Any recommendations on completing educational requirements, I have 70 credits in addition to about 40 job credits. I know I can bank them with excelsior. But what would be my best option towards getting a 4 year degree for captain? John Jay or an online school? I would only be able to transfer 90 credits to John jay.
I just spoke to a captain friend of mine. He stated empire was the way to go. You have to do 36 credits with them, but stated they have someone specifically designated to assist mos in obtaining a degree.

I highly recommend Excelsior College and Thomas Edison State College if you want a regionally accredited degree that will be acceptable for promotion to Capt. With the credits that you have already you can get a degree by taking a few tests and 1-3 online courses maximum. These schools are as close to bogus as possible but they are regionally accredited which is what you need.
